A Technique to Deal With Negative Thoughts

When will this be over?

That seems to be the biggest question on everyone’s mind, but as Governor Andrew Cuomo said in Monday’s briefing, “ there is no on/off switch.”

Like most of you, I have ups and downs in my day. Unfortunately, I pulled my back out in one of my online yoga classes (that is what happens when you do not listen to your body) so I have been severely limited in my daily schedule. Talk about the Universe telling me to slow down.

Yet in the midst of this, I have found amazing support. My orthopedist Sylvia Hesse has been Face timing me to see how I am, my Chiropractor opened his office just for me, and one of my brilliant students Hope Tarr has been doing long distance Reiki!

It is crucial to look at what support you require at this time. In times of major crisis, the old tools just may not work for you anymore, so exploring new ones may be just the thing you are looking for. When we are physically, mentally and emotionally stressed it is easy to get depleted.

spring

I once heard that our brains are hard wired to danger and are like Velcro for negativity and Teflon for positivity. So it actually takes more positive experiences to overcome even one negative.

Try this when a negative thought arises:

1. Stop
2. Breathe in to the count of 4, hold for the count of 4 and exhale for the count of four
3. Imagine that like a book you are reading, you can put the thought back on a shelf. Or like a movie you are watching, you can turn the channel
4. Say out loud “Cancel Clear!" Think of this as deleted a file from your mental computer

Is it easy? NO. Is it worth it? YES.

New Time of Spiritual Growth and Acceleration

This is a Holy Month for many religions and this week we celebrate both Passover and Easter. I would like to suggest we take a time out from being productive in the outer world and use this week to go in and get the healing and guidance we require in order to move into alignment with this new time of spiritual growth and acceleration.

As my teacher Brugh Joy used to say, “to truly transform you must delete the need to know.” In other words, be present with what is.

Any huge initiation (and that is what this is) has the potential to bring up all our childhood fears. For this reason, I have recorded one of my favorite healing meditations “The Jade Temple” adapted from The Seven Sacred Flames, using music by Joule L'Adara.

Many of you know I have been working with these sacred flames and the energy of the I AM PRESENCE for over 30 years. All energies of the  seven major rays flood the earth daily to balance your chakras and bring you wisdom and guidance. Each ray has different rituals that will give you the road map required to walk this spiritual path with integrity, support and consciousness. You are a divine being experiencing and learning from life.

The energies of the Great Jade Temple hold the balance of healing for each one of us and for The Earth. Listen to the meditation here:

Know you are safe, protected and loved.

Wisdom in the Time of Coronavirus

Here is what I have learned this week:

1. Getting dressed each morning makes every encounter more meaningful. Think of it, you don’t go to church or temple in your pajamas, you don’t have a dinner party in old dirty sweats, you don’t go to work looking like you have partied all night.

I am not saying you have to wear full makeup, a suit and tie, high heels or go over the top, however taking care of yourself at this time, can ground you and change the way you think and experience life.

2. Fun exercise is crucial. I have started NIAtv.fit. Some of my friends do Zumba, ecstatic dance, yoga or other movement classes. Walking outside (with social distancing)  is also another component to staying energized. Try exploring new streets, noticing the birds you hear, plants you see, the architecture of buildings. Remember that every time you do something different and new you build new brain cells.

3. Zoom parties where people are sharing are best with a small group of people. Or, make sure you have a moderator who will keep the flow going. Dance parties don't seem to matter how many are on.

I will continue to post videos and inspirational affirmations and rituals on my Instagram so please follow me so you can receive them.

The New Moon in Aries and Washing Hands Ritual

The world has certainly changed since the last time I wrote a newsletter (only a week ago) and I am feeling very strongly that we need to use this time to invest in ourselves so we can then be of service to each other and the planet.

Tonight is the New Moon in Aries. Here is what my friend astrologer Rebecca Gordon is sharing about this time.

“This New Moon is packed with Aries power, though this is a unique flavor of power as the Moon rides alongside Chiron (the wounded healer) and it squares the nodes of destiny. It’s not the traditional clean punch of Aries right now – instead this new Moon will ask you to rethink how you exert your power into the world (as we are all currently doing that). This lunation is here to expose the wounds behind force and power and bring healing to a more selfish trajectory. It will question your masculine side, your yang, and how you exert yourself into the world. Aries is a ‘me’ sign and what is being shown now are the repercussions of a self-interest based society.

Also this lunation will closely square the nodal axis, showing a much more significant change in direction from our previous life trajectory. We must be so open to change and pivot right now as this is the only way into the future. It’s time to shed these skins and make way for a fresh start. On this Aries New Moon, ask how you can assert yourself in a way that is inclusive, that benefits our unified field and all living beings. What will a new expression of Aries look like in this drastically evolving world?”

I will be doing my first Women’s New Moon Circle on Zoom tonight, March 24th at 8pm EST. To sign up please visit the Events page.

WASHING YOUR HANDS RITUAL

Since we all have to wash our hands every 20 minutes or so, let’s make it a sacred ritual. I received this from Dori Midnight via Liz Sterling and totally resonated with it.

We are humans relearning to wash our hands. Washing our hands is an act of love. Washing our hands is an act of care. Washing our hands is an act that puts the hyper-vigilant body at ease. Washing our hands helps us return to ourselves by washing away what does not serve. Wash your hare washing the only teacup left that your great grandmother carried across the ocean, like you are washing the hair of a beloved who is dying, like you are washing the feet of Grace Lee Boggs, your auntie, Audre Lorde, Mary Oliver... you get the picture. Like this water is poured from a jug your best friend just carried for three miles from the spring they had to climb a mountain to reach, like water is a precious resource made. It is time to care for one another, to pray over water, to wash fear away every time we wash our hands.

Please let me know how I can support you. What subjects would you like to know more about? What classes or rituals would you find useful at this time? Would you be interested in a weekly support group?

A Fresh Perspective On This Challenging Time

After being in the most amazing goddess retreat in Mexico, filled with health-conscious women in Isla Mujeres, I returned to life in NY that feels like I am living in a science fiction movie.

No words can adequately describe the world today, however, my friend Cheryl sent me a poem by Lynn Ungar that touched my soul.

I hope it gives you a different perspective on this challenging time.

What if you thought of it
as the Jews consider the Sabbath—
the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel.
Cease from buying and selling.
Give up, just for now,
on trying to make the world
different than it is.
Sing. Pray. Touch only those
to whom you commit your life.
Center down.
And when your body has become still,
reach out with your heart.
Know that we are connected
in ways that are terrifying and beautiful.
(You could hardly deny it now.)
Know that our lives
are in one another’s hands.
(Surely, that has come clear.)
Do not reach out your hands.
Reach out your heart.
Reach out your words.
Reach out all the tendrils
of compassion that move, invisibly,
where we cannot touch.
Promise this world your love--
for better or for worse,
in sickness and in health,
so long as we all shall live.

- Lynn Ungar 3/11/20

One of the techniques that I use a lot to neutralize and release negative emotions is a Finger Hold Technique. I have recorded a guided visualization for you using the music from the album The Infinite of one of my favorite healers/musicians/producers - Barry Goldstein. Get comfortable and listen to this meditation.

BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

Not sure when discussing brands of hand sanitizers became as common as discussing the latest restaurant, lipstick color or favorite Netflix movie, but that is life today.

Stress is the number one culprit responsible for damaging the immune system. What are you doing in the moment to counteract the feelings of panic, fear and acute terror that is gripping our world?

Here are some of my Simple Stress busters:

  1. Breathe: When your body is under stress you stop breathing or move into shallow breathing. Taking slow deep breaths (start by counting to 4) keeps you from being hijacked by your emotions;

  2. Do not watch the news at night. You take the last thing you see or hear into your dream time and you do not want to take chaos into sleep time;

  3. Get some fresh air;

  4. Put cool water on your hands and face;

  5. Use Space Spray to clear out negative energy;

  6. Use Happiness Spray to boost your immune system;

  7. Use Protect Spray to keep a psychic shield around you.

I have recorded a special video to BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM.

Women’s International History Month: The Heroine’s Journey

I remember being a part of a “consciousness raising group” back in the 70’s. We were young feminist and determined to change how women were perceived and treated in the world.

My journey took me into the discovery of the goddess and the ancient mystery schools, healing the myth of being a superwoman/mom and the reclaiming of  the power of the feminine.

As I look at our world today a lot has changed and a lot has stayed the same.

“Yet we all know that When women are meaningfully represented and engaged in leadership bodies—such as legislatures, courts, executive boards, community councils—laws, rulings, and decisions are more likely to be inclusive, representative, and take diverse views into account.” - Women Deliver

So, for the entire month of March I am using my Instagram and Facebook page to share tools and techniques that will empower women. Each day, I will be offering guidance from cards, posting positive affirmation, sharing powerful rituals and videos with you.

These will strengthen your intuition, build confidence, build resiliency and open you to abundance. And men can use them too!

International women's month

Let me know if you have any specific subjects you would like me to cover. Please LIKE and share with your women friends and let’s build a community that supports us all. It is time to invest in yourself. You are worth it!

Leap Year 2020

2020 is a Leap Year, which means we add an extra day to the month of February.

Women Propose to Their Men

According to an old Irish legend, or possibly history, St Brigid struck a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men – and not just the other way around – every four years. This is believed to have been introduced to balance the traditional roles of men and women in a similar way to how Leap Year balances the calendar.

Not to ignore the role of women in the world, (my Instagram feed is dedicated to tools for women’s empowerment during the entire month of March) , however I do want to throw out the idea of taking an extra day for ourselves.

What would you do if you had an extra day each month dedicated just for you? Would you catch up on your reading? Hit the art galleries? Bing watch Netflix or amazon? Walk on the beach? Make a date with an old friend for lunch? Take a class? Treat yourself to a massage or reflexology? Or, just chill and see what you feel like doing in the moment?

As we move into the energy of Pisces it is crucial to take care of yourself and create a daily ritual that will support you moving into this volatile year. How you show up in the face of chaos is important to your health and well -being.

Release Negativity in Your Morning Shower (excerpt from The Joy of Ritual)

Approach your shower or bath as an opportunity to let go of worries, concerns and fears. If you don’t have time for a shower, do this while washing your face.

Imagine that the running water gathers all the stress residue from the pores of your body. Allow the water to wash away all the emotionally, mental and physical stress that you are holding on to consciously or unconsciously.

Say, “I now release anything I have created or have taken on from others that is anything less that prosperity, joy and love. Today I claim a miracle ( add anything you desire after this. For example “I claim a financial miracle”, I claim a healing miracle”)

To add to this ritual, I recommend you use Protect and Ground Aromatherapy Sprays.

May You Awaken to the Mystery of Being Here

This has been the theme of the past two weeks for me as I have been teaching and traveling in California. It has truly been a magical mystery tour.

Magical+Mystery+Tour+in+California

May you awaken to the mystery of being here and enter the quiet immensity of your own presence.
May you have joy and peace in the temple of your senses.
May you receive great encouragement when new frontiers beckon.
May you respond to the call of your gift and find the courage to follow its path.
May the flame of anger free you from falsity.
May warmth of heart keep your presence aflame and may anxiety never linger about you.
May your outer dignity mirror an inner dignity of soul.
May you take time to celebrate the quiet miracles that seek no attention.
May you be consoled in the secret symmetry of your soul.
May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven around the heart of wonder.

TRUST

The  word that kept coming to me as I boarded the plane for San Diego was TRUST. I was off to teach at the golden Door Spa and open to an exciting adventure.

Trust in the universe

I first stopped in La Jolla to hang  out with my friends Arielle and Brian for two days before heading up to San Marcos. We walked on the beach, ate great food and visited the Self Realization Fellowship Encinitas Center.

Only one glitch: I lost my wallet.  All of my credit cards and cash were in there and we couldn’t figure out where it could have gone.

Finally, I gave in and cancelled all my cards and surrendered the whole thing. Guess the Universe was telling me to slow down and be more present. Check!

Two days later,  I saw that my assistant Lana had received a call at my office that someone had found my wallet. Amazing, since I did not have any ID in it except my credit cards.

I called the number and a woman answered who said she had found my wallet and googled me to track me down. She found my website which had my phone number then sent me a message on Twitter and Facebook (neither of which I received since I had unplugged from social media).

When she found out that I was at The Golden Door, she said she was in the neighborhood and would drop it off to me.

THANK YOU JENNA ROSS!

Never forget that there are many good people out there who are caring and willing to go the extra mile to help a stranger.

TRUST that the Universe is on your side.

Many Blessings,

Barbara

Manifest Through Visualization

I have noticed that all of my millennial clients are asking me to give them some guided visualizations so I thought I would share how using this technique can empower you to achieve your goals.

Thoughts have power

I first learned the power of visualization back in the early 80's (thank you Robert Fritz) and it totally changed my life. The concept behind it is that in order to create something new you have to first be able to imagine it.

Thoughts create vibrations that can be energized and qualified by our feelings. This process actually creates physical changes in our brains. It is a powerful way to create a strong force-field of energy that will send out a clear pattern of what you desire to manifest in your life.

Why visualization works

Remember that the brain cannot tell the difference between a mental image and an actual image. That is why in coaching we often say, "act as if".

Here is a video to guide you through the steps you require to create empowering visualizations for success and well-being all levels of your being.

Be Here Now

Be Here Now

The sudden and shocking deaths of Kobe Bryant and his young daughter have been a major wake-up call to all of us about living our best lives now and not putting it off for later.

How many times have you said, “when I have more money” I will…, When I lose 10 pounds I will…, when I … I will…”

Where is the passion?

We use our creativity to give voice to our passions. The more attention we give to our passions the more they will respond because passions need an outlet.

If you had 10 minutes on a national media outlet to tell the world anything you wanted and knew everyone would listen, what would you say? What have you learned that you want others to know? What do you care most about in your life? What do you want for yourself? Others?

Write them down. These are your passions.

Begin

Manifest Your Intentions

If you make the most of the present, you will be more aware of possibilities and will have a better chance of creating the future you desire.

Start taking action on them today: even baby steps count.

Many Blessings,

Barbara

Set Intentions for 2020

I am sitting down to write this after an incredible Vision Workshop where we went deeper than ever before. I feel blessed to have mid-wifed this transformation with a group of people who courageously shared their truth with me and the group. I want to acknowledge each and every one of you for stepping into your authentic power.

So what is next? Having your Ah Ha! Is very powerful, however knowing what to do with the information is another thing.

Remember that improvements in our lives do not happen on their own. As much as we would love to see these changes, they are not just magically delivered to our door like an Amazon package. We need to be the initiators in the positive changes we want to see and the Universe will then support us by sending us resources.

We have the choice to do things differently or fall back into our old routines that may not support our new choices.

What do you hope for this coming year that is different from other years? How do you want to improve your life this year? How do you want to be different by Jan 2021?

Then ask yourself: “What can I do alone and where do I require help?”

The time of dysfunctional independence is over.

What do you want to say YES to today?

Many Blessings,

Barbara

Choices you make today will impact your future.

On Friday night I shared this story while teaching at the New York Open Center and many participants asked me to send them a copy, so I thought I would share it with all of you as well.

A Spiritual Teaching Story

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire.

He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife, enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor.

The carpenter said yes, but in time, it was easy to see that his heart was no longer in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.

When the carpenter finished his work, the employer came to inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter.

"This is your house" he said, "my gift to you".

The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.

It is the same with us.  We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building. Then with a shock, we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over, we'd do it much differently.

But we cannot go back. Each one of us is the carpenter. Each day we hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall.

"Life is a do-it-yourself project," someone has said. Your attitudes and the choices you make today, build the "house" you live in tomorrow.

Build wisely!

Work like you don't need the money.

Love like you've never been hurt.

Dance like nobody's watching.

What You Must Do To Create Change in 2020

I love how Colette Baron-Reid described 2019 - ”Like being caught in a snow globe and having some big green giant alien shaking it while you are trying unsuccessfully to hold on to your world while watching everything get turned upside down.”

That being said, I have been contemplating what really creates change and transformation. As I threw cards for myself this year, a pattern appeared that I want to share with you.

  1. You need peace of mind: it is important to  find ways to deal with worry, fear and over-analyzing. If we move into “what if” and “if only”, our energy drops and we don’t have the clarity or energy to create what we most desire.

  2. Let go of the old outdated forms. Yes, sometimes it is challenging to say, “this is over”, however you cannot outperform your old self-image of yourself, your business or your creative projects. The past is over.

  3. Having strong boundaries. This one has been topping my list. When I don’t honor my boundaries and go into an over-giving pattern, I become drained and depleted. Then all I want to do is stay in bed binging Netflix.

  4. Radical Self Care. The more things change, the more it is important to take care of basics like sleep, exercise, healthy eating and meaningful connections.

  5. Fun. This goes with self-care. I know that many times I am just too serious and need the magic and wonder of simply having a good belly laugh, playing and expressing the silly part of me.

  6. In moments of doubt and confusion - wait. Without quiet and contemplation, I do not have the resources or true guidance I need to move forward. Then I tend to ask too many people’s opinions which can create more confusion.

  7. Have a strategic plan; you can always adjust later, however being organized and systematic really helps move you forward. Set achievable goals and then acknowledge the successes. Whenever you set intention and then succeed, you increase your brain’s awareness of your ability to create success. It does not matter if they are small or large successes.

  8. Find support - stretch outside of your comfort network. You are who you surround yourself with. Let go of being dysfunctionally independent. By the way, your friends may not be the best people to advise you, so expand your network.

The Time for Creating is Now

Honestly, it is hard to wrap my head around the concept of 2020. Seems like yesterday (and a million years ago)  that we were contemplating the turn of the century.

I started off 2000 leading a ritual in a cave in Bali. I was surrounded by an incredible group of people from all over the world integrating ancient Balinese rituals with modern ones. We were hopeful, open and curious.

Over the past 20 years, I have led rituals around the world, comforted people in the midst of tragedies, celebrated birthdays, weddings, new births (now have 9 healthy babies born after fertility rituals) and opened many Broadway Shows. I have experienced the loss of loved ones, officiated the weddings of my son and brother (yes I married my son and brother!) and traveled to India, Cuba, Amsterdam, France, Prague, Italy, Hawaii, Mexico and many cities in the US.

I am still hopeful, open and curious.

2020 gives us the opportunity to do things in a different way. It is time to shine your light, dare to dream and create strong communities that will stabilize and sustain us in the next decade.

The time of silence is over. The time of “fixing” is over. The time for creating is now.

As always, to start the year off right, I am offering my FREE 12-day intention intensive. You will be receiving one mp3 daily starting tomorrow to guide you in setting intention for 2020. As my teacher Omraam Mikhael  Aivanhov taught, the first 12 days of the year set intention for the entire year. If your friends want to receive these, have them sign up for my newsletter HERE.

And to lighten your spirits, here is my favorite Prosperity Ritual to do on New Year’s Day.

Get a bowl or basket

Fill it with coins

Bless the coins for everything you desire in 2020 (health, a project, new home, love, etc.)

Anytime after midnight on New Year’s eve, go to your front door and throw the coins into your home - you can also do this for your office

Keep them there for 24 hours

Give them away (to a friend or stranger)

This ritual affirms that you have more than enough to be generous

P.S. - Don’t forget to wear new red underwear to bring in passion this year!

Check out Soulfulliving.com on January 1st. For their 25th anniversary I have written an article on starting the year with conscious rituals.

Will you join me for VISION 2020:LEVEL UP? I urge you to give yourself the gift of support, practical spiritual tools and inspiration to start off 2020. This weekend is packed with rituals, sound-healing, drumming, meditation, art and delicious tea. It is a life-changing experience.  It is a time to RECALIBRATE and assimilate the next level of your gifts and talents. This is the shift that will make a difference. I want you to live your life to the fullest! Payment plans are available.

Make Your Holidays Holy Days - My article on Soulfulliving.com

I wrote the following article for Soulfulliving.com which will be featured on their website on New Years Day to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Check it out HERE!

The time for pushing is over.

The time for allowing is NOW.

Transformation is remembering who you are.

Just about everyone celebrates Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa. Unfortunately, when most of us commemorate such special days, we rarely think about, and in some cases do not even know, that many of these holidays--holy days--date back thousands of years and were originally created to mark the changing of seasons and other happenings in nature. Even worse, as our celebrations have become less about meaning and more about material concerns--getting presents or wearing new outfits--holidays can be both stressful and laden with unrealistic expectations.

Remember as you get caught up in the routines and busyness of your life, you get lost in secondary choices and lose focus on your higher vision. Make sure you take time to nurture your soul and body.

Turn this holiday into a meaningful occasion.

You'll be surprised how easy it is to turn holiday occasions that you normally take for granted, or move through without thinking, into a meaningful ritual. Instead of just coming up with a guest list and planning the usual gatherings, if you slow down, realize that you're taking part in a time-honored tradition that connects you to your past, and concentrate on your intention --to commemorate an important holy day--you will get deeper meaning and a greater sense of connectedness out of each occasion.

To restore meaning to our holiday traditions, we can look to our own roots, explore the practices of our ancestors, and even borrow from ancient cultures to celebrate holidays in a new way at these celebrations. Let this year be a living ritual to peace and understanding.

Whether you are lighting Hanukkah candles, looking at the lights on a Christmas tree or lighting the candles of Kwanzaa, I want to invite you to take a moment and reflect on all the ways that Light can dispel the darkness. Let the light be a reminder that we are sparks of Divine Light.

Rituals to End the Year

  1. Do not answer your phone on the first ring or answer an email or text immediately. Instead, take a few deep breaths. This will calm your mind and regulate the stress hormones in your body. You will feel clearer, calmer and make better choices.

  2. Take some time to be quiet and reflect on the decade that is drawing to a close. Think about the people who mattered the most to you, your greatest accomplishments, challenging difficulties and the lessons learned.

  3. Contemplate the patterns in your life that keep you stuck. Write down the limiting beliefs or habits that you wish to leave behind with the old year. In a fireproof bowl or fireplace, burn the paper. As the paper burns, be aware that you have made space for new ideas, people and opportunities to enter your life. Carefully throw out the ashes when they cool and leave on the earth.

  4. Do something you have never done before that brings you joy. Check out some art, listen to music, invite friends for a potluck dinner and ask them to bring food that they loved as a child.

  5. Take 5 minutes to focus on peace. Light a candle and imagine the light going out into the world.

  6. Forgive, forgive, forgive.

  7. Create a gratitude altar. Write down all the things and people that you are grateful for. Write each one on a separate slip of paper and put it in a bowl or basket. Each day pick one name out of the bowl and imagine that you can send and receive love from them/it.

  8. Keep in mind that the first 12 days of the year represent the entire year. If you would like some support, sign up for my newsletter at my website and you will receive one "intention intensive" mp3 each day for twelve days, January 1 - 12.

Everything You Do Makes a Difference

Last week we had a freak snow squall that seemed to come out of nowhere. Luckily, a taxi was passing as my friend Susan was trying to get uptown. She started to get in the cab when she heard a woman saying “taxi! taxi!”. Looking around she spotted a small elderly woman bundled up in a large coat. Without giving it a thought Susan reached out to the woman and invited her to get in and share the cab with her.

The woman lived on the far West Side of Manhattan and it took them an extra 20 minutes out of her way, but Susan couldn’t have cared less. And she refused to take any money from the woman.

Driving uptown she started chatting with the woman and asked her about her family and then asked her how old she was. The woman hemmed and hawed about wrinkles and old age and refused to say, but then shared that her birthday was on November 6th. My friend was stunned. Just that morning her daughter had said to her, “Since we are all having dreams about Grandpa (who had passed away in September),  I guess someone has to channel grandma”. Susan’s mother’s birthday was November 6th.

And it gets better.

As they got to the woman’s home, the cab driver said to Susan, “In all my years as a NY cab driver you are the nicest person I have ever had in my car. You make me want to be a better person”.  Then he got out of his cab, opened the back door and escorted the woman to her doorstep. Pretty unheard of in NYC.

Remember, everything you do or don’t do makes a difference and can change someone’s life. Let us embody this teaching into the coming decade. Ram Dass, one of the great spiritual teachers of our time has just passed on and totally lived this teaching. Let us honor him by doing the same.

For a small investment in yourself, you can make 2020 a year that will be a game changer. And you will be in the company of amazing men and women from around the country. Check it out HERE

Here Comes the Light!

Both the Winter Solstice (Saturday, Dec. 21st) and Hanukkah (Sunday, Dec. 22nd) celebrate the miracle of light and renewed hope. Both will be celebrated this weekend.

I don’t know about you, but I could use some extra light in my life. The world is going through unprecedented chaos and we have been navigating uncharted territory this past year. Everything seems upside down.

Yet, deep in my heart, I know that change is good, and nothing can stay the same without stagnating. The key is knowing what you can change yourself and where you need support. There is no shame in not knowing. You cannot know everything. Ask for help.

As we move closer to the Winter Solstice it is important, one more time, to venture inward and take the time to rest, rejuvenate and revision our lives and our world. Not easy at this time of year, but crucial.

See if you can look at your life as it is, not as you had hoped it would be at this time. Being fully present with NOW can empower you to make conscious choices that will propel you forward.

If you find you need an energy boost, try using color therapy. It has been known for eons of time that color plays a major role in setting up a particular mood or state of mind. Color does affect one's feelings, moods, and emotions.

Today I am wearing orange to bring me a higher frequency of joy. And I even painted my nails with a sparkling turquoise! Watch my video on the Power of Color to find out more.

As a holiday thank you for being in my community, I am gifting all of you with my newest meditation Releasing Anxiety and Worry. Share my website with your friends and they will receive this free gift as well!

Ritual for The Winter Solstice

Place some gold glitter in a bowl of water.

Light a candle to bring light and prosperity into your life and into the world.

Honor the Spiritual Beings for blessing us with their light.

Dip your hand in the water and sprinkle the glitter “sunshine” on your hair or anoint your hands or face.

If you are with others, let each person anoint another. You might also want to play a song that brings in the spirit of light like the classic “This little light of mine”

Next week I will share some of my favorite ways to end the year consciously and my favorite prosperity ritual to start off the New Year.

Let Your Vision Pull You Up!

For the past two days I have had a really bad sore throat and lost my voice. Since I could not talk, I decided to go through notes I have been making about my Vision Weekend in January.

What popped out for me was the research that has shown that you do not have to be motivated in order to plan and act. A vision can mobilize motivation. Even professional athletes drag themselves to the gym, get started, and when they get in motion, they access a motivated state. Waiting until you get the energy to take action on your vision doesn’t work; you have to take action in order to get the energy to do your vision.

So this morning, even though I still didn’t feel great, I took a shower, washed my hair, and instead of staying in my pjs, got dressed and put on some makeup.

Instantly, I felt better.

A friend of mine recently told me that while going through chemo she wanted to look as good as she could because it made her feel better. And hospitals are now encouraging their patients to comb their hair and put on fresh bedclothes.

The key is to move into alignment with our intentions and goals. Then we can gain clarity and momentum. When we are out of alignment we end up sabotaging ourselves and our energy goes down.

Let your vision pull you up.

And that is why I am such a big believer in coming together as a community to dream big and allow your new vision for your life to unfold.

Join me at VISION 2020 to put your thoughts into action and craft your expanded vision for the new year!

Work with Barbara

I will be taking my annual “solar return” trip from November 26th to December 8th so time is limited to next week or mid-December to take advantage of my one on one readings, rituals or coaching sessions before the end of this year.

VISION 2020 is now open for enrollment. Our new space is amazing and the energy coming in for 2020 is off the charts. I will be taking a meditation retreat at the beginning of December to go in and see what Spirit has in store for us and what tools will be the most useful for us to have.

This weekend workshop is worth well over $2500 but is available to you for only $595. Sign up now and bring your friends!

Many Blessings,

Barbara
