One of my favorite rituals is to explore the arts as a path to healing and awakening. On Sunday, my friend Nancy and I went to see the musical Goddess at The Public Theatre in NYC. It was a stunning celebration of the power of music to heal, uplift, and build community.
As Saheem Ali, the writer and director, so beautifully said:
“It’s about how love inspires you to be your best self — how another human, regardless of gender, race, or any outward signifier, can hold up a mirror, giving you the courage and confidence to manifest your greatest potential.”
And yes—the dancing was absolutely spectacular!
As June begins and we step into Pride Month, it’s the perfect time to reflect on love in all its forms—bold, fierce, unconditional. This month, I invite you to practice being that mirror of love for someone else. A friend. A colleague. Your community.
And don’t forget to do it for yourself.

I love Mel Robbins’ simple ritual:
Look in the mirror and give yourself a high five.
Try it each morning this week and notice what shifts. The world changes when we learn to see—and celebrate—our own light.
With love,
Barbara
