What a 105-Year-Old Taught Me.

I had a great conversation with a taxi driver a few years ago. He told me his grandfather, who lives in Romania, was 105 years old.

I was fascinated and wanted to know everything about how he was being cared for. It turned out his grandfather was very independent, still living on his own.

I asked when he had last visited. He told me about taking his grandfather for his physical. The doctor was a bit concerned about his cholesterol and warned him to watch what he put in his body.

I pictured this 105-year-old man sitting in the doctor's office, listening politely as someone forty or fifty years younger told him how to live longer.

Then he smiled and said something I'll never forget... his grandfather said he understood that it mattered what you feed your body, but "Doctor," he said, "I think it is more important how you feed your soul."

That line has stayed with me ever since. So today I want to ask you the same question:

What are you doing to feed your soul?

Here is where I would start:

• Put on music you love and dance in your kitchen. Nobody is watching.

• Give yourself real time alone, even just twenty minutes with no phone.

• Wake up early one morning this week and watch the sunrise. It changes something.

• Let yourself play and be silly. Your soul does not care how old you are.

• Pick up an inspiring biography and let someone else's courage remind you of your own.

• Sit in stillness, even for five minutes. Meditation does not have to look a certain way.

• Get your hands into clay, crayons, or paint. Making something with your hands feeds a part of you that thinking cannot reach.

• Share a poem with a friend. Let someone else feel fed too.

I think about that grandfather often. A hundred and five years old, still living on his own, still clear about what mattered most.

I have spent my career helping people create meaningful rituals for their lives, yet in one sentence this man reminded me that every ritual, every meditation, every blessing has always been about one thing: feeding the soul.

Most of us know, somewhere inside us, what feeds our soul. The hard part is remembering to do it and giving ourselves permission when life gets loud.

Maybe the question isn't "What feeds your soul?" Maybe it's "When was the last time you actually fed it?"

If reading this stirred something in you, don't ignore it.

Sometimes all we need is a little space, a fresh perspective, or someone to help us clear away what has been covering up our own inner knowing.

That's the work I've devoted my life to.

Whether through an intuitive reading that offer clarity, confirmation, and a deeper connection to your own inner wisdom.

Private transformational sessions and energetic space clearings that help you release what's keeping you stuck and create room for what's next ,or a ceremony for an important life transition, my role is simply to help you hear your own soul a little more clearly.

I keep my private practice intentionally small so I can give each client my full attention. I have a few openings before Labor Day. If this feels like the right time, simply reply to this email. I'd love to hear what's calling you!

Sometimes we know exactly what our soul needs—we just can't seem to get there on our own. That's where I come in.

For more than 30 years, I've helped people clear what no longer belongs to them—old patterns, inherited stories, and energetic clutter—so they can reconnect with their own wisdom, joy, and purpose.

With love and light,

Barbara
