The Day the Statue of Sekhmet Spoke to Me

We are entering the potent portal of the Scorpio Full Moon, a time that invites deep release, transformation, and spiritual clarity. In the Buddhist tradition, this Full Moon is sacred—it honors the birth, enlightenment, and teachings of the Buddha.

Astrologer Lisa Zimmerman shares:

"Under this Full Moon, you have the opportunity to face, release or transmute old, conditioned patterns, behaviors, and beliefs that are dragging you down and limiting your life. Bless and release anything that's draining your energy, inhibiting your progress, or misaligned with your Evolving Self."

This energy is fierce—and so is the goddess who’s been guiding me for years: Sekhmet, the lion-headed warrior and healer of Ancient Egypt.

With her solar fire, she scorches illusion and restores strength. I first encountered her in the home of Jean Houston, who owns one of the oldest Sekhmet statues. Our interaction was profound… but the true initiation came in 2022, in Egypt.

We were meditating in Sekhmet’s sanctuary at Karnak when I suddenly felt flooded with a high-frequency light. I got dizzy. Disoriented. And then—I heard her voice:

"It is time for me to be out in the world again, and all I require is your respect and light."

After our meditation, my friend Terry- a professional psychic for over 30 years-  shared that she’d seen electric blue feathers streaming from Sekhmet into my crown chakra.

Since then, Sekhmet has been by my side—sometimes fierce, sometimes gentle—but always focused on helping me, and those I work with, become the fullest version of who we’re meant to be. She is tough love embodied.

The Message of The Present Moment (Egypt Adventures)

This trip to Egypt started with an auspicious meeting. Because of my broken shoulder, I ordered a wheel chair at the airport. My wheelchair attendant told me his name was Levi…one of the twelve tribes of Israel. He told me that his lineage dated back to the building of the ancient pyramids and that his ancestors were the architects and builders of the pyramids. I told him that I was on my way to Egypt. You really can’t make this stuff up!

After a fabulous visit in Paris with friends, we arrived in Egypt and now are about to embark on the next phase of our journey. I already got the message to ground and center as I bashed my head on the locker door at the spa (and so did 2 other people in our group). Luckily it was not serious, but the message was clear…..slow down and pay attention.

The energy in the world is very intense, so trust your intuition to guide you as you allow the old to come up to be cleared. This is a time of honoring what was and being open to the new that wants to come in. And always be gentle with yourself.

How to Use the Creative Nature of Conflict

Most of you know that I am a bit obsessed with ancient Egyptian Mythology and Spirituality. Today I was meditating on the god Set (Seth): King of chaos and the destroyer god who murdered his brother Osiris. There were many different factions in ancient Egypt with many belief systems. Some scholars say that Seth represented one powerful king trying to take power from another. In any case, he represents our shadow. A story that is still true today.

There is teaching here on how to use the creative nature of conflict. When we move into fear, loss of control and overwhelm, we lose all perspective. Trust me I know! We project this outside of ourselves, our imagination goes wild, and we create all kinds of catastrophic images of the future.

I am not saying we can easily fix all situations; however, I do know that once we can own and integrate the parts of us that we reject, we can then ground and center. As we face our fears, extraordinary solutions arise. Then we must learn to assert ourselves with as much emotional intelligence as possible knowing that out of destruction can come new creative solutions.
