You check your phone, scroll, skim, click… and somewhere in the process, you stop breathing.
It's subtle, but real. Many of us hold our breath while moving through emails and social feeds, keeping the body in a low-grade state of tension and urgency. This "digital apnea" can leave you feeling drained, scattered, and oddly disconnected.
Try this…
Before opening your inbox or apps, take 3 slow, conscious breaths.
While scrolling, notice your body, especially your jaw, shoulders, and breath.
If you notice tension, overwhelm, or fatigue creeping in, that's your signal to step away.
When you step away, move your body. Even a few minutes of stretching or light movement can release built-up tension.
Small shift. Powerful impact. Your breath is your anchor. When you return to it, you return to yourself.
With love and fierce courage,
Barbara
