Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays, however this year we all are being called on to re-invent this time.
Most people are celebrating either virtually or with a small group of people and the traditional rituals that have allowed us to share from our hearts and connect meaningfully with one another have drastically changed.
This year as a Thanksgiving Ritual (whether it is your holiday or not), I want to encourage you to:
Put down the heaviness of the past and give thanks for the gift of this Holiday.
Fast from complaining.
Be present to what is instead focusing on what isn’t.
Notice the small things in life.
Stop comparing yourself to others or measuring your success by impossible standards.
Be open to the countless gifts you have and for the possibilities of the future.
Laugh and do things that bring you joy.
“Put down the weight of your aloneness and ease into the conversation. The kettle is singing even as it pours you a drink, the cooking pots have left their arrogant aloofness and seen the good in you at last. All the birds and creatures of the world are unutterably themselves. Everything is waiting for you.” - David Whyte
Listen to this special meditation I have recorded as a gift to you:
Many Blessings,
Barbara
